Throne Room Environment

This environment scene was created for an environment art class that occurred during this past month. My Environment Scene is based on an early concept photo by Martin Holmberg and Thiago Klafke on their "The Temple of Utu" project. The overall look and feel of the scene is a mix of Art Deco and Medieval architectural and design elements. Over the course of the month, I gained better knowledge on how to be more efficient in the game art workflow and became more comfortable in using Substance Designer, though I still have a lot more to learn. For this project, we were allowed to watch tutorials to help us create our materials. For my wood texture, I used Jeremy Seiner's video "Create Wood Texture in Substance Designer" on YouTube, and for the tiled marble texture, I used Get Learnt's "Marble Tile| Beginner Substance Designer Tutorial" also on YouTube. These tutorials were used as jumping-off points, as I didn't recreate either one's texture completely. For the rest of the textures, I wanted to challenge myself to create them on my own, specifically the mandala.

1/3 of my favorite materials because I had a lot of trouble with it in the beginning but I love how it turned out.

2/3 of my favorite materials I made because of just how long I spent figuring it out and how happy I am that it turned out nice.

3/3 of my favorite materials I made because I played around with exposed parameters and was able to make a versatile marble material for what I needed.
